CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may make changes to these Terms from time to time and these changes will become effective as soon as they are posted on the Services. By continuing to use the Services you will be deemed to accept these changes. If you disagree with the Terms, or any revisions of them, please discontinue your use of the Services.

The Youonlywetter erotic fiction writing competition 2014: “The Competition” is organised by Youonlywetter.co.uk

  • The Competition is open to anyone aged 18 or over who is not excluded by these Rules. There is no upper age limit for entry.
  • Members of YouOnlyWetter staff and members of their immediate family are excluded from being eligible to enter.
  • The deadline for entries is 5pm (UK time) on Friday 18th of April 2014. Entries received after this deadline will not be considered but may still be posted on the YouOnlyWetter website.
  • Entrants must submit a short story of up to 5000 words in length. Titles, blank lines and page numbers are not included in the word count.
  • Entrants may submit as many stories as they wish, but each story must be submitted as a separate entry.

Entries can be written by more than one person in a collaborative sense to a maximum of three people. Only one prize will be offered and the winning voucher will be sent to the entry email address. Allocation of the prize to individuals of a team entry is the responsibility of the team and no correspondence will be entered into in relation of allocation of such prize in the event of a dispute

All work submitted for consideration can be on any subject, and written in any style or form as long as it contains erotic content and is not deemed to be illegal under UK law, and the entrant’s own original work, and should not be protected by copyright in print or appear on a website (including blogs and social networking sites) or have been broadcast, or be submitted for publication or consideration elsewhere and considered protected by copyright by any of these, for the duration of the competition (which is deemed to begin on the date of entry and end on Friday 18th April 2014

Work found to be subject to copyright elsewhere will be disqualified and removed.

  • All work must be written in English. Entrants can include illustrations or art work but these will not be considered as part of the prize. We are only able to accept electronic posts directly to the site, not via printed or written media.
  • Translations into English of work written in other languages can be accepted, provided that the source text is the entrant’s own original work and has not been published (in print or on a website including blogs and social networking sites) or submitted for consideration elsewhere; translations into English of work published (in print or on a website including blogs and social networking sites) elsewhere in other languages will not be accepted.
  • Entries will be accepted only online via the competition website.
  • Any content to be deemed illegal under UK law will not be accepted

Judges will not be privy to entrants’ names during the reading and judging processes. Names will be reattributed to entries only after the short list and winners have been decided.
Entries submitted for consideration may be withdrawn from the Competition by entrants by notification (by email) to be received by [email protected].

Amendments cannot be made to entries after they have been submitted; stories cannot be amended, corrected or substituted. If entrants wish to correct errors in stories, they must withdraw their story from the Competition as above and enter again. No correspondence or discussion about amendments will be entered into.

  • Youonlywetter reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it has reasonable grounds to believe that the entrant has breached any of these Rules, or made a false declaration on the entry form.
  • Youonlywetter cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition.
  • Youonlywetter will act in accordance with current UK data protection legislation in relation to your personal data.
  • The Competition and Rules will be governed by English Law and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
  • Youonlywetter reserves the right to amend these Rules where it is deemed necessary to do so or where circumstances are beyond Youonlywetter control. Any changes to the Rules will be posted on the Youonlywetter Writing Competition website.
  • Submission of an entry will be deemed to imply unqualified acceptance of the Competition’s Rules. In the event of any dispute regarding these Rules or any other matter relating to the Competition, the decision of youonlywetter shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.

Judging and Selection

A judging panel of Youonlywetter employees will select a short-list of entrants and, from that list, select the winners. The judges’ decisions are final, and no correspondence about their decisions will be entered into. Youonlywetter reserves the right to change the panel of judges without notice.

Short-listed entrants will be notified before the announcement of the winner. The winner will receive their prize by Friday the 25th of April 2013. This will be in the form of an electronic voucher redeemable at www.youonlywetter.co.uk only and no cash alternative or refund of unspent monies will be offered.

Fees There are no fees for entering this competition. However no recompense will be offered to entrants incurring costs directly or indirectly through entry into the competition.

Copyright

The copyright in each story submitted remains with the author. Entrants are deemed to grant to Youonlywetter a non-exclusive, worldwide licence over each entry submitted for the duration of the Competition (which is deemed to end on Friday 18th April 2014), and for publicity purposes thereafter. Selected pieces may be printed in publications and journals hosted by Youonlywetter and affiliated/ sister sites and may appear in electronic format on the Youonlywetter website, or in other electronic forms. Entrants are free to submit stories entered into the Competition for consideration elsewhere (i.e. to other competitions or for publication) after Friday 18th April 2014

Prizes

The Youonlywetter Writing Competition: The Youonlywetter erotic Fiction Prize” will award one prize:

  • A voucher to the value of £100 to the winner(s). The judges may decide to award The Youonlywetter Fiction Prize jointly and divide the cash sum accordingly. The maximum number of winners will be two.
  • If the winner(s) are a team (maximum 3 writers on one piece) the prize will be issued to the entry e-mail address Allocation of the prize to individuals of a team entry is the responsibility of the team and no correspondence will be entered into in relation of allocation of such prize in the event of a dispute.
